We are back for another day of purging. Today is Day 6 – Make-up! I am willing to take a guess that 90% of you (who wear make-up) need to purge some. Do you know when you purchased your mascara? After 3 months or so, mascara starts to grow bacteria, and needs replaced.
You are doing great. Keep purging! If you are behind on the daily tasks, don’t fret. You can make up any days when you have time this month. Just keep moving forward! Purge Day 6: Make-Up
Task: Purge all empty, expired & un-used make-up. Here is a free printable showing recommended make-up toss dates.
Organizing Tip: Use clear acrylic or plastic drawers to organize make-up by category. Sort drawers by type of make-up. To see my make-up organization, visit (this) post. There’s also a free printable included!

Yes! This is my downfall right here…if I would stop BUYING it, I wouldn’t need to PURGE it! Knowing is half the battle, right? Lol Thanks for this month; I’m behind but I’ve been keeping up by taking all of my before pics as a visual to get my butt in gear!

I am so excited to be doing this, Toni!! One question – where did you get the soap dispensers by your sinks in the bathroom photo? I’m looking at the older post about organizing your make up and noticed the pretty soap dispensers. Thanks for doing this organizational purge!!
They were purchased a while ago. I couldn’t tell you where she got them from.
I’ve been following along and this was the easiest “purge” and so easy! Do you have any recommendations for disposing of old makeup containers for recycling? (I know stores like Mac will accept their old containers but, you need to turn in 6 at a time!). Unlike clothing or shoes, makeup isn’t an easy item to purge and not fill guilty about filling up a landfill.
I don’t have any advice for makeup containers. This might be a great thing to google for resources in your area.
