Month at a Glance: October 2014

October, the beginning of Fall. Leaves changing colors as the temperatures begin to cool off and preparations begin for Halloween and the following holiday season. Football season is here, soccer is finishing up and we’re all into our routines, making life work. As you plan your work and work your plan, A Bowl Full of Lemons is here every step of the way and this month is no different. It’s been a busy, fun-filled month and I’m excited to take a moment to look back at all that’s been going on.

To start off the month, we excitedly challenged you all to start purging your house. When a house is cluttered, it’s nearly impossible to organize it. With each day came a new area to work in, getting rid of the unwanted, donating the unneeded and removing the out of place. If you missed this challenge, you can always work through it on your own. Once the stage is set to welcome your friends and family, you’ll want to get cooking! What better way to get started than in the pantry, making it easy to grab the ingredients you need to get baking.

If you’re fortunate enough to have a garage, you’ll want to get in there before the weather gets too cold and make sure everything has a home and everything is in its home. An organized garage can add wonderful storage space for holiday decorations, off season supplies and much more while allowing your car to come on it out of the cold!

While you’re busy purging and organizing, it’s so important that you take the time for yourself to relax and enjoy some quiet time. Each month we introduce a new book for our online book club. If you haven’t joined yet, you’re always welcome to do so.
