“Behind the Scenes”
Since beginning my blog back in 2010, with only one reader (my husband), my blog has grown by the thousands. Right along with that, the mass amount of daily emails, messages, series, posts, and work involved has grown exponentially. I have come to the conclusion that I cannot do it by myself anymore. I am very happy to announce that I hired an assistant to help me keep my head above water, and that she has done well (so far)! Her name is Rachel and she is a stay at home mom of 4 beautiful children. Rachel will be helping out behind the scenes as well as writing some blog posts here and there. So if you see the name “Rachel” anywhere on my blog or in an email, you now have a face with the name.
Meet Rachel. “I am a stay-at-home mom to four children; my oldest is in kindergarten this year. I’ve been married for 8 years and find cleaning and organizing to be very therapeutic! My goal is to work myself out of a job by raising my children to be capable adults who can manage a household on their own. I daily strive to make my house a home with an ‘open door policy’, so friends and strangers alike are always welcome.”
To add to this, I also “hired” my husband (for free) as my new website developer. He has done an amazing job transferring the blog to a new server and fixing issues that affect the running of my blog. It takes a whole lot to successfully run a blog! Thank you both for making ABFOL run smoothly!! Without you, I would be a crazy woman. 🙂
Meet my husband, John.

Welcome, Rachel! And good job, John. 🙂
Congrats on the new assistant, Toni. Welcome, Rachel. I’m looking forward to seeing all the great things to come on ABFOL.
Welcome, You are much needed…..Can’t wait to see some of your ideas on the blog.
Oh man if I had known you were looking for an assistant I would have spoken up! I actually live not too far from Charleston, about 25 minutes away. I would love to meet you if you have the chance someday! Been trying hard to organize my small apartment, but it’s difficult. You have a beautiful family, by the way 🙂
I am curious to know what blog server you went with. I am a science coach serving three schools in my school district. I use blogger to disseminate information to my teachers that I work with. I have read so much about the pros and cons of blogger vs wordpress.
I absolutely love your blog and all your material. Trying to find that balance between work and home is so difficult. You have some really great ideas that I am working to try and implement. Looking forward to the summer to really put some of your plans in action and see if they will help me next year.
Sandy I use a wordpress self hosted platform. We went with wired tree. They have excellent customer service which I think is very important when choosing your server provider. Hope this helps. 🙂
Toni, what wonderful news!! So excited to be learning from both you and Rachel as we move into our new home next week and I need to be (much more) organized to fulfill my vision of being a wife, mom and homemaker keeping a home open to hospitality. *I was privileged to room with Rachel in college and she is amazingly clean and organized! I’m afraid I may have been the thorn in her side!! Sorry!!
Hey Rochelle! If I remember correctly there was another roommate we needed to keep after! Congratulations on the new home and I’m sure you’re an amazing wife, mom and homemaker.
Welcome Rachel and look forward to your postings (and behind the scenes events)!
Wow! I had no idea your blog was so relatively young. That is such great growth over such a short period of time. Congratulations! And congratulations to Rachel, too–sounds like a fun job!
Thanks Robbie! So far, I’m having too much fun to call it a job 🙂
Welcome Rachel!! I will be moving to a new home the end of the week and I already learned soooo much with Toni!!! My goal is to be more organized with my home and blog/business , and Toni (and now Rachel) is helping me reach my goal! May God bless you both!
Thank you for helping us be better homemakers!
Thanks Lillian! First, congratulations on your new home. Such an exciting time! I’m honored to know that I’m helping Toni, help people like you reach personal goals!
