It’s spring cleaning season & this week Clean Mama and A Bowl Full of Lemons are kicking off our “Spring Clean in 30” Challenge! We are completing 30 cleaning tasks (each under 30 minutes) for the next 30 days & sharing daily on Instagram. If you don’t have an Instagram account, you can find out what we’ve been cleaning each week – here on the blog. If you have an Instagram account, follow us @abowlfulloflemons and @cleanmama to see our daily tasks. We would love for you to join the challenge & share with us, using the hash tag #springcleanin30. Print out the schedule here. Here’s an overview of what we accomplished this week.
WEEK 1
- Day 1: Dust all edges & corners at the ceiling level
- Day 2: Dust Ground level edges & corners
- Day 3: Dust or Vacuum Vents
- Day 4: Vacuum Edges (where floor meets baseboards)
- Day 5: Wash Baseboards
- Day 6: Clean Front & Back Door
- Day 7: Wipe Switch Plates
Day 1: Dust Ceiling (Edges & Corners). I use a Casabella duster to reach the tall ceilings in my house. Go through all rooms in your house.
Day 2: Dust the edges & corners at ground level. I use a Swiffer duster for this task. Go as fast as you can through all of the rooms in your house.
Day 3: Dust vents. With a vacuum or duster, go through all vents in your house and dust. Change filters if needed. I use a Swiffer duster.
Day 4: Vacuum Edges (where the floor meets the baseboards). Speed through each room in the house with a handheld vacuum cleaner and clean the edges. I use a handheld battery powered Dyson for this task.
Day 5: Wash Baseboards. Using a damp microfiber cloth or cleaning/baby wipes, wipe down all of the baseboards in the house. I prefer to use cleaning wipes but any type of cloth & vinegar spray will do the job.
Day 6: Clean Doors (Front & Back). Using a vinegar spray & damp cloth, wipe down the doors, windows, trim and edges.
Day 7: Wipe Switch Plates. Using a cleaning wipe or microfiber cloth, wipe down all switch plates in the house.
We’ll see you tomorrow on Instagram or back here next week for another set of cleaning tasks. Have a great week!
