Do you need some decorating inspiration? Other than visiting some spring time
parade of homes (wink), borrowing books from your local library is a great free way to get some inspiration. I found some fabulous decorating books this week. Here are a few of pictures from one of the books called
Restore, Recycle, Repurpose (a country living book).
I LOVE the chalkboard above the stove.
Picnic tables are such a cute, inexpensive way to decorate a dining room. You can paint it any color you want, then distress and seal it. I love the color of this one.
Wow, the view from that porch! Im digging the red vintage glider too!
Do you have any favorite decorating books or magazines? What gives you inspiration?

Great idea! I’ll have to take my kids to the library soon so I can check out some books too!

I pick up second-hand magazines… they may be old but some of the ideas aren’t! I liked the photos you posted, they look timeless.
I like magazines for inspiration, although my favorites have gone away (ME Home Companion and Cottage Living). I am also inspired by books and blogs.
I usually check out the books first and see whether or not they are keepers
I love looking at my Pottery Barn catalogs when they come in. They have such great inspiration!
Pottery Barn catalogs and Ballard Design catalogs are my eye candy. On occasion I will pick up a Decorating Ideas magazine but love blogs for inspiration!
I do love all these ideas you’ve shown here. We must have a lot of the same tastes. I would love to simplify my kitchen and take it back to the “olden” days. I’d take my cabinets down and have shelves any day of the week. But unfortunately I just had my kitchen remodeled three years ago, and don’t think the husband would go for it! I get my inspiration from magazines and decorating book and certainly blogs!

I have a mirror fetish lately and love the one above the sink in loo of a window! Nicely done.
Thanks for the reminder to look at the library. Honestly I follow so many blogs that I get TONS of ideas out there that get the wheels turning. I also like to check out so many different magazines while in waiting rooms. Or I randomly have something I don’t know what to do with it…when all else fails google it, you’d be surprised the ideas that you can come up with!
I honestly never even thought to get these types of books from the library. I can’t wait to check out some for me. Thanks for the inspiration!
