You have seen the bare bones of my dining room in this previous post. Now, Im adding some more layers, a little at a time. It still has some “operating” to do, but I’m getting there. Once garage sale season starts, I will be adding some more “vin-t-a-g-e” to it. 🙂
A little old, a little new…
Any ideas on what I can put in the center of my table? Im not digging the candle sticks & cake stand. I like them both, but not on the table.
I purchased 2 of these baskets at Hobby Lobby, on clearance. LOVE them! They remind me of an old bicycle basket.
Old ceiling tin & molding frames from torn down farm houses in Georgia.
New curtain panels from World Market...
This vase came from Home Goods.
I would {heart} to put up some vintage style wallpaper on this center wall… but since there is a possibility that we may move, I am holding off.
I’m praying that one day very soon, we will be heading south to the beach. That means I will have a new house to redecorate. Maybe something like this…
and this…
According to this adorable blog... my style would possibly be called {vintage coastal chic}. I love saying that. Vintage Coastal Chic!
ps. You have to visit sarah’s blog, A Beach Cottage… Life by the Sea. Its so cute.
Sorry… Im back. I went to la-la-land there for a minute. I was blog dreaming. 🙂
But for now… I will keep on decorating my little house on the corner with the white picket fence.
I LOVE cake stands… (Home Goods again, $12.00)
Any ideas on what to hang from this? I love the vintage looking glass knobs. (Hobby Lobby)
I got this frame for my husband for Valentines Day. (Target)
I am going to put three vintage winding alarm clocks on this shelf. Got the idea from My Sweet Savannah. I found one clock on ebay… still looking for the other two.
Another Hobby Lobby find.
Wreath on a picture frame…
LOVE my vintage window. I just imagine where it came from. What the old house looked like. The charm it certainly had…
My black pie safe (a favorite piece)… I used it when I decorated primitive.. and it still goes with my modern-vintage look too!
I would LOVE some ideas on this dining room. I’m having a hard time putting it together. Any suggestions (and pictures) would be great! :)))

Put a bowl of lemons on your table! 🙂
or maybe something turquoise or apple green? hmmm
to hang from your glass knobs…….frames of your favorite spring photo’s……4×6, a 5×7 and etc.
or hang old vintage camera’s from them…… 🙂 maybe you can find vintage miniatures?
Love your space!!! Your WHOLE blog has kicked my nesting into gear and I’ve done so much because of your inspiring posts! THANK YOU!
I really love what you have done.I agree with Shannnon. You should add a bowl of lemons to the table. that would be sooo cute!

I LOVE Hobby Lobby! You could put a nice vase of real or silk flowers in the middle and then shorter candles on each side.
Great ideas. I really love the idea of the hanging cameras!!!
It looks lovely. Love the wreath on the picture frame idea.
Hey Toni! I was also going to say a bowl full of lemons as well! I love your blog!! I have been inspired to organize so much stuff! You have great taste! Love it!
absolutely adore your style. I think I have told you that before though 🙂
This is a little freaky…we just got your same dining table and just yesterday I was standing in the dining room thinking…I should submit this room to a designer to see how they would “complete” the room since I have NO IDEA what to do with it…now this! AMAZING!
What a beautiful room! I would recommend a plant on the table, it looks like the room gets plenty of sunlight.
Everything looks so beautiful, thanks for sharing:)
Heather, Thats crazy!! I was thinking maybe an old scale with dried lavendar or something like that?? Thanks for the ideas. They are great!!
Lovely room, great photography skills! I think you will know what would look best on the table when you come across it, but I’d certainly go for the bowl full of lemons in the short term.
everything is coming together so nicely!!
A milk glass pitcher would look nice and add the “vintage” feel plus you could put flowers in it. Just a thought.
Oh and for the knobs you could make sachet out of antique lace and fill them with lavender or whatever you like.
Your dining room is coming along great. The great thing about the vintage style you’re going for is that there are always tons of treasures out there to choose from. Just buy what you love, put it in the middle of the table, and rearrange until you’re happy with it! 🙂
I’m SOOOOO in love with that OLD WINDOW! Check my house if it goes missing:) For the center of the table you should put a fat old bucket that looks worn and fabulous. Fill it up with some bushy somethin’ or other. I think it would look simple but bring in some more of that vintage feeling to the room. GOOD LUCK!

I think a bowl full of lemons, too! I think you need a spot of cheery color.
Gorg! Put a lantern in the middle. They have some adorable ones at Hobby Lobby right now, but I got mine from Goodwill.
There are some beautiful large vases at Costplus World Market that would look great in the center of your table with some pretty white hydrangas from there too. You could possibly still have the candles sticks on the table with it or get a few varied heights of glass candles holders to put next to the vase. Or how about one of those lanterns, I see them at Home Goods all the time..and fill it with lemons like everyone suggested. Whatever you come up with I think will be cute..you have great sense of style! Whew…that was long! Sorry!
