“Spring cleaning time at A Bowl Full of Lemons”
When was the last time you gave your windows any attention? Last week? Last month? Last year? Its spring and a great time to have a “cleaning” challenge. This week I am challenging you to open up the drapes, pull up the blinds, and let the sunshine in! We are going to be washing the windows! Throughout the rest of April, we will be concentrating on spring cleaning during the weekly challenges. Its always more fun cleaning with others.
THE CHALLENGE THIS WEEK:
I am challenging you to wash EVERY WINDOW IN YOUR HOME
*Clean inside & out if you are able to! If you power wash your home (like we do), hold of on cleaning the outside windows for now.

You have all week to do this. No excuses. 🙂 You will be happy to accomplish this challenge once its finished. So roll up your sleeves and get busy. If you have the Basic H window cleaner mix, you already have a head start. You can also use any window cleaner you have available. I will try to make our spring cleaning fun and simple.

Oh, my goodness! We have 35+ windows…it’s such a pain to clean them. I know it’s one of those annual chores to do, but I really hate doing it!! I WILL do the insides – maybe 5 each day!

Organizing Made Fun
Now this challenge is perfectly timed for me! This week is spring cleaning week. So I will be doing all 16 windows (large and small) in my house.
This is an interesting challenge. Maybe i am a bit obsessed with my windows. I did all but the downstairs windows last week (bar the bathroom one which has no nets to wash which was my mission) I only did them before Christmas as i always do the windows before the lights go up. I see some peoples houses with yellowing nets and think how do you ignore that. Still each to their own. The cat contributes to my need as well as little fingers that like to smuge misted up windows. So just the upstairs to acomplish now which with the Easter hols only days away with inevitably have to wait 🙂

Very timely!!! I have 20 windows plus 2 big picture windows and 2 doorwalls…they are loooong overdue!
I’ve never counted our windows and now I know we have 27 upstairs and 9 downstairs. Guess I will be busy. Good thing I have Basic H! I was actually thinking about doing this soon anyway so now I have a reason:)
Window washing was a challenge on another blog I read so I have gotten started. I have 15, 16 with the glass/screen door. Make that 17 as we have one in back too!! LOL I can only do the outside of 8, maybe 9 windows.
Inside I have done 8 or 9. But not the tracks. I want to get those done, too.
I guess I can only half participate in this one. I live in an apartment on the 2nd floor and my living room window needs such a good cleaning on the outside, but I can’t get to it and the managers won’t do it. =[
I only have 2 windows also since I’m in an apartment. I wish I had more natural light. Someday… =]

I actually did the kitchen window today because I needed to put the screen back in. I had pulled the screen out this winter because it was so dirty and I couldn’t stand looking at it! So today I cleaned it and part of the window! Only 18 more windows to go! I probably won’t do them until my summer vacation when I have more time. Plus, I might as well wait until they have planted the field behind us and the dust has settled! Only 33 more days to go until the organizing & cleaning can begin!
Have you tried to Windex window kit? We used it on our outside windows last fall before we put plastic on the windows and I was quite impressed on how easy it was 🙂
Now, I want to go home and bust out my H2 and do my windows!!!! Might have to tackle a couple tonight 🙂
oh I SO, SO need to do our windows!!!! They are horrible, since we had such a bad winter here. Maybe I will do the windows in the doors, today. I need to get started. I usually just do a few per day, over a week’s time. I think we have about 22 windows, plus several doors and a sliding glass door, ugh! better get started.
So, what do others recommend to use cloth-wise? I don’t like paper towels or newspaper so…, thoughts?

It can be pretty fun. Like many spring cleaning projects, it feels good to finish and see the shiny and clean results. In any case, if you have a lot of windows at home, it’s best to set a plan to make sure that everything is organized and on time.
