For as long as I can remember, I have loved the color “Jadite”. It reminds me of my childhood & spending time in my grandmothers kitchen, watching anxiously as she baked her delicious recipes. I love the vintage feel of this chic color.

I have incorporated jadite into my kitchen, but I have a “Dream” kitchen, which I am planning in my mind. It will have beautiful lined cupboards full of fire king & vintage glass knobs. The doors will have leaded glass inserts and I will have a vintage kitchen table, the formica kind. It will be a beautiful space… one day!

This is one of my all time favorite vintage kitchens. I first saw it on rate my space, and then again in Better Homes & Gardens Magazine.

All shades of sea glass are just lovely.

I can picture this color on my kitchen walls.
(I can’t remember where I found the color.)
The subtle touches of jadite transform a space.
As for now, I will continue to dream, and be content with the kitchen that I have created thus far.
Here is the beginning of my “Vintage Dishes Collection”. I absolutely LOVE treasure hunting at garage sales, flea markets, and antique stores. I love finding the perfect vintage peices.
I need to get my green glass knobs for the doors yet.
Here is the start to my vintage kitchen. I need more “jadite” in here, but its slowly coming along! Spring time garage sales cannot come fast enough.
What would your dream kitchen look like? Do you decorate with Jadite?
I get ALOT of inspiration from Jadite Kate. She as an adorable blog &etsy shop where you can purchase vintage jadite dishes.
*I have been saving these pictures for a while now and I didn’t save where I found a few of them (so some will not have the credited source).
i die for that retro kitchen. funny how i never knew that color was called jadite…i live in a cave.

That post was YUMMY! I love, love, LOVE green and jadite is such a soothing, minty green. My mom has that crockery pattern, but has lost pieces over the years. 🙁
I didn’t know that color was called jadite either but I too LOVE green. My dream kitchen is a kitchen that always looks clean: lots of white, gray counters and lots of glass. I love glass cabinet I think they make a kitchen look so classy!
Its so beautiful it makes me ache inside!!! Id die for that old fashioned jadite stove!!!
Oh, my goodness! That is SO beautiful! I love green/jadite colors! They really make me happy and smile too! Beautiful!
Keep warm!

Oh I love it too! I’ve had to start low end and start collectiong jadeite vintage tupperware lol. I did buy my first piece of Fire King Jadeite though. It was a batter bowl I found a great deal on at an antique store – and I loved it and used it all the time, but a cat knocked the tray it was on (along with other things I had been collecting) onto the floor and they all shattered. I’ve got to find another one. I’m also really hoping to get the “Pistachio” Kitchen Aid stand mixer before they’re all gone. I can’t find the color on their site anymore 🙁 and that’s the one I HAVE to have. (I’ll get Ice if they’ve all disappeared.) I LOVE your vintage scale and shake mixer!
Totally in love putting it in a save file!
drooling over the jadite – what is it about that color?
My kitchen is my next project – I’m doing green and deep barn red 🙂
I don’t decorate with jadite or much of anything as of late thanks to living in base housing. However, I often dream of a milk glass/jadite kitchen. Maybe one day when we are living Stateside again?!
I think the word “jadite” first referred to the glassware line produced by Fire King; it then later became synonomous with that particular shade of green.
My grandmother had a lot of lovely vintage pieces, but I’m more of a LuRay Pottery girl myself. 🙂
I think these kitchens look very crisp and clean with all their white cabinetry and the cool green accents.
I had never heard the word “jadite” before now. I’ve seen stuff in that color, though.
We have limited space, so my dream kitchen wouldn’t have anything fancy in particular – except for I’ve always wanted to have one of those KitchenAid stand mixers in the pretty red color.
Someday I hope to tile our floor in a nice sandy beige color (we currently have linoleum) and Hubby would like to redo the countertops. They are currently a gray color, and we’re more into sandy beige. 🙂
I am also a jadeite lover!
I just painted my kithen that shade and I love it. Mines called Maine Shore- you shouldl also check out anthro for some knobs…they are all about Jadite this season.
Cat… That’s exciting information for me!!!!!! I’m off to anthropology today!!
This is how I feel about yellow…a soft butter yellow. My plan is to make little changes to my kitchen in the spring and add lots of wonderful yellow. I enjoyed reading about your love for jadite (a color I must say I’ve never heard of but now that I see it it’s familiar).
Beautiful post! Very inspiring

I agree, Jadite is gorgeous. My love is vintage style stoves like that in your first picture!
adorable! I love the inspiration pictures.
My first kitchen was all aqua and coral vintage pyrex.

I love, love, love the green. My husband would never let me have a kitchen like this though. I’m sure he would think it was too country.
(sorry about the double post!)
I really fell in love with vintagey kitchens and last year we took the plunge when redoing ours. Including the 1940’s stove 🙂

Our walls are Quietude by SW, which is a touch more blue than jadite.
My favorite part about these milky-soft vintage colors is that they have enough personality on their own, while still being neutral enough to accompany fun pops of accent color.

Love love love love love it! that is the color ive been dying to add to my kitchen/living room. its sooo beautiful!
I love the colors of sea glass. I have been wanting those colors around me more lately!
Those kitchens and photos are gorgeous. I especially love your kitchen scale. Old scales like that make me think of my grandma and grandpa.
Im not sure if it even is a ‘color”. I just made it up.. 🙂 Thanks for the sweet comments. I would LOVE to see your kitchens!!
My dream kitchen would have a vintage look, too, but with a Disney theme 🙂 Plus it would be big and open with room for the dining table which would also be vintage with vintage chairs.
I like the look of Jadite, too, but my kitchen is in colors of red and yellow.
Like Pretty Woman…only “Green is your signature color”. Lovely kitchens…so warm and welcoming but NOT cluttered. Never like that vintage and dirty look of country…I prefer country fresh 😉
thanks so much for the plug 🙂 i appreciate it.
You are welcome kate. Thanks for stopping by my blog. 😉

I have a tiny collection of Jadite: a mixing bowl, S&P shakers, flour and sugar canisters, and measuring cups that I broke. I never know exactly how to display them so all this eye candy is just what I needed! My kitchen is painted jadite and I also have a stand mixer in the same color. I can’t get enough of it!
My kitchen is jadite with red and yellow accents!
BUT My dream kitchen is cream cabinets with glass doors and jadite walls and the cabinets filled with all my jadite treasures!
You have a great start!
Smiles, Dolly
Those pale greens are such soothing shades. One of my winter projects is to redecorate the kitchen. That will be my green room! I love the photo with the three glass canisters and green scale.
Hi Toni.
I love jadite too!
The picture of the kitchen with the farm sink and the floral skirt below is mine. Would you mind linking the image to my blog, Velvet and Linen?
Thank you!
Happy New Year!

Love Jadite! My Mom had a few select pieces and thats what got me started. I put jadite colored glass knobs on my antiqued white kitchen cabinets. Luv it! Want to carry the theme through to the family room which kitchen is open to. Anybody have any pics of that? Mary
I, too, love Jadite…something about seeing a lot of the glassware all together that is sooo pretty.
I began collecting it when I could find it at low cost; before Martha Stewart made the prices rocket, lol.
My kitchen is done around Jadite, but I also have yellows and reds/pinks with the green.. I love my jadite collection…mostly vintage, some repro. So fun! My daughter-in-law began collecting it, as did my sister; very contagious, LOL. Thanks for all the great photos!!
