After a long winter vacation, I feel rejuvenated and excited to get back to blogging and sharing my tips on organization. In my new series “Plain & Simple Organizing”, I will be going through one room per month, giving you some inspiration and your very own challenges to complete. We will work in the kitchen, office, garage, closets, and many more spaces, taking our time to really concentrate on the room at hand, until its organized the way you want it to be. Are you in need of an overhaul? Is your house un-organized? If so, join me this year and clean out the clutter. Starting this week, I will be challenging you to get your kitchen in order. Your first challenge will begin in a couple days. I will give you several mini challenges each month, to make it easier for you to complete the entire space, a little at a time. So roll up your sleeves and lets get organized!
Here are a few pictures of my kitchen. This month, I will be opening up my cabinets & showing you how I organize this space & give you tips on how you can transform your own kitchen to become more functional and useful. Are you ready to get organized?
Happy Organizing!

Just beautiful.
I can’t wait. I am more ready then ever to start. We have to much stuff and it is a huge mess.
Your kitchen is gorgeous. I am relatively new to your blog. So far I am enjoying it very much! My kitchen is much much smaller and older. Hopefully I can adapt to these challenges. I am looking forward to the series.
So drooling over your beautiful kitchen! Someday….
I am so excited and ready to get my house under control and purge unused items. This is my year to stay on top of it all and be more organized. This has been on my heart most of 2013, but we have had some unforeseen things happen. And now it’s time to take control! Thank you so much for your expertise in all this and most of all, your time!
Your kitchen is beautiful. I love the white and jadeite combination.
I’m so excited for this! There perfect thing at the perfect time. 🙂 Thank you for your encouragement and kindness. Your writing is just so lovely and I enjoy your photos and style. Very excited indeed!
Just found your blog and website last week….I have been so inspired and can’t wait to tackle this challenge.
Sounds great! I’m excited to get started!!
Your Kitchen is amazing!!!!
Great looking forward to it! Hopefully doing a room per month will give me time with a busy schedule and actually “complete” the room. Tried challenge in the past and could get all the way through. Motivation is key this year for me so it will get done 🙂
oh how I need this challenge! We are so cramped in our tiny rental townhouse! If you saw the condition of my “office” you would absolutely die!!
Loving it! So neat and clean. What types of plants are in the basket nest to the sink? Can’t wait to participate in the challenge. I work full time outside of the house and found the weekly challenges to be overwhelming. Thank you.
I’m swooning over your jadite green lovelies! Just so much fun, especially enveloped by the white cupboards!
;-}
Love the jadeite collection. My kitchen is opposite, I have that green color on the walls and I collect milk glass lol. Can’t wait to start the challenge and get my new house in shape now that we are settled and I’m ready to add this to the list of things to do 🙂
What a gorgeous kitchen! Looking forward to your ideas. We can all use a little help making things better! Happy New Year!
I wish my kitchen was as nice as yours. I love looking at this site and you have wonderful ideas but I find myself annoyed at times because I live in a very old house that is not in the best shape. My kitchen is the hardest because I can’t afford to remodel it. I can’t reach the top shelves (even with a step stool) and so I just don’t use them. this results in a lot of unwanted clutter with extra shelves on the floors….any suggestions?
The best place to start is with a quick purge. Then go through what’s left over and get serious about purging, only keep what you have the space for and what you truly love and use. To add extra, within reach, shelving, consider shelf extenders. You can find them in the kitchen section of any local mega-store but also The Container Store or other organizing-type stores.
Thanks for the tip Rachel!
Mega-excited!
I am really looking forward to this series! Can you tell me where your dining hutch is from? It’s beautiful!
This is great and long awaited. I am ready to get to work!
Your kitchen is so pretty!! Where did you get the jadeite green measuring cups on the wall above the cutting board?
You can find that lovely piece in the Cracker Barrel store.
I’m so ready to do this. I’ve already started decluttering my cupboards and can’t wait to get your help. Love your kitchen by the way…
This looks lovely! I really need to declutter my kitchen counters and let go of some things I just don’t use often.
I can’t wait for more on this and look forward to the “challenge”. My kitchen is definitely not organized!! THANKS!!
Your kitchen is beautiful. Love the Jadeite collection!
